Hair-raising.

For 2023, a new project_513/2 Special Edition model is available, although with extremely limited production of only 75 units. This camouflaged version of the RS e-tron GT derives its curious name from the original code used to identify the prototype RS e-tron GT. Some of this version's most prominent features are its Nappa leather seats with front-row ventilation and massage, carbon-fiber inlay, and striking red and black interior and exterior accents.

Power, Performance, and Charging

The 2023 RS e-tron GT is an elite all-wheel drive sports car that emphasizes the thrill factor of driving. Its two electric motors make a heart-stopping 590 hp (637 hp in boost mode). The 93.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack allows for 232 miles of all-electric driving (this corresponds to 79 MPGe in the city and 82 MPGe on the highway, according to EPA estimates). When it's plugged in to a 240V charger, the '23 RS e-tron GT will achieve full charge in 10.5 hours. If it's connected to a DC fast charger, a 5 to 80 percent charge will be reached in just 22.5 minutes.

Standard Equipment Comparison

The RS e-tron GT falls into the luxury car category, so it's only natural for it to have the finest features the industry has to offer. On the exterior, you'll find multifunctional side mirrors (they're power-folding, auto-dimming, and heated with position memory), Matrix-design LED headlights, summer tires on 20-inch wheels, and proximity keyless entry. Inside, the RS e-tron GT gets synthetic leather upholstery, stainless-steel pedals, tri-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a built-in toll module and HomeLink, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel wrapped in faux suede, paddle shifters, heated seats (both front and rear), and matte carbon-fiber inlay.

The RS e-tron GT also comes with a slate of up-to-date technology, including a head-up display, wireless phone charging, and an infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and SiriusXM satellite radio with a three-month Platinum Plan subscription. Also provided is a six-month trial to Audi Connect Plus, which links to the infotainment system via your smart device and can help you locate charging stations, plan trips, and connect to Amazon Alexa.

Advanced Safety Systems

Some noteworthy safety aids come standard in the '23 RS e-tron GT. These include forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, active parking assist, a top-view camera system, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with lane guidance, and lane keeping assist.

Packages and project_513/2 Special Edition

Three packages are available for the '23 RS e-tron GT: Carbon Performance, Ceramic Brakes, and Full Leather Interior. The Carbon Performance Package will provide carbon-fiber door and side sills (the door sills are illuminated), plus special headlight and taillight animation, “laser light” LED headlights, black badges, an enhanced power steering system, and rear-wheel steering, which reduces the vehicle's turning radius. The Ceramic Brakes Package includes 21-inch wheels with summer tires and special Anthracite Gray ceramic brake calipers.

While the Full Leather Interior Package is rather self-explanatory (its leather treatment extends to the dashboard, door trim, center console, and seats, the latter of which are upholstered in fine Nappa leather with honeycomb stitching), it also issues massaging front-row sport seats with ventilation and leg/side bolster adjustments and a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel (heated). The 2023 model year also marks the introduction of the limited-edition project_513/2 model. Designed to look like the prototype RS e-tron GT, this attention-getter flaunts a distinctive camouflage aesthetic with red and black accenting and most of the contents of the Carbon Performance and Full Leather Interior packages.
