2025 Audi S6 Sportback e-tron

The usage of the “S” designation on Audi models dates back more than three decades, when the elite automaker began applying it to signify a performance variant. Among the first of these extra-capable Audis was the S6, which made its debut in 1994 with a robust V8 engine. Now, the automaker has put a new twist on this badge with the all-electric 2025 Audi S6 Sportback e-tron. It brings with it the high style expected from a German-made sedan, while embracing Audi’s latest EV architecture, Premium Platform Electric (PPE).

Along with the A6 Sportback e-tron, these are the first non-crossovers to take advantage of the PPE system, which helps maximize efficiency and interior space. Keeping the S6 tradition alive, the Sportback e-tron with standard quattro all-wheel drive delivers stunning acceleration of zero to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds (it can reach 149 mph on the track). At the same time, the S6 Sportback e-tron is easy to live with, thanks to 324 miles of range and ample cargo space when the second row is folded down.

This overview concentrates on the S6 Sportback e-tron. Please look for our separate pages on the A6 Sportback e-tron and the gas-powered S6 sedan.

Trims and Powertrain

Audi makes three trim versions of the 2025 Audi S6 Sportback e-tron: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. They’re propelled by a dual electric motor configuration connected to a 94.4 kWh battery pack. This all-electric, all-wheel-drive arrangement produces a combined 543 maximum horsepower. A sport adaptive air suspension with electronic shock absorber control contributes to this model’s superior ride.

With Level 3/DC fast charging at peak capacity, the battery can be re-energized from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes. The EPA has estimated range for all three trims at 324 miles. There is 25.95 cubic feet of cargo space, which can be increased to 39.29 cubic feet by folding down the rear seatbacks.

Standard Features

The Premium leaves the Audi factory with abundant standard features, which include upgraded front sport seats (heated and ventilated) and a panoramic glass sunroof with switchable transparency. The equipment list also covers tri-zone automatic climate control, red brake calipers, a flat-bottomed steering wheel with power controls, heated side mirrors with power-folding and auto-dimming functions, carbon-fiber cabin inlays, sound-reducing front glass, split-folding 40/20/40 rear seatbacks, and all-season run-flat tires on 20-inch aero-design wheels. The optional Premium Convenience Package will add a heated steering wheel, heated rear outboard seats, cabin pre-conditioning, and additional driver-assist features (covered in the next section).

The Premium Plus gets all of the amenities listed for the Premium Convenience Package along with an augmented reality head-up display. The Prestige adds digital OLED taillights, trim-exclusive signatures for the daytime running lights, and power soft-closing doors.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

All S6 Sportback e-tron trims are set up with the most advanced driver-assist technologies, such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. The Premium Convenience Package includes a surround-view monitor and adaptive cruise assist (adaptive cruise control with lane-centering), which comes standard on the two higher trims. A complement of airbags, anti-lock braking, stability and traction control, and a rearview monitor are installed on every trim.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The centerpiece of the cabin is a 14.5-inch central touchscreen that is the hub for Audi’s newest infotainment system. The platform has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Access to Audi connected services for emergency support, navigation, and remote functions is also standard. The more basic audio system in the Premium is upgraded to a Bang & Olufsen setup in the Premium and Premium Plus. A 10.9-inch front passenger touchscreen is found only in the Prestige. This display provides access to media and navigation without the risk of distracting the driver.
